Mr. Muh was a co-founder of Sutter Securities Incorporated. From August 1984 to June 1987, Mr. Muh was a senior managing director in charge of the San Francisco region of Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. Mr. Muh supervised the overall business development and operations of 200 professionals and staff with full profit and loss responsibility. Bear Stearns’ activities in San Francisco included corporate finance, retail brokerage, institutional sales, fixed income sales, public finance and real estate in northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Mr. Muh moved to San Francisco in August 1984 from Bear Stearns’ Los Angeles office. He joined Bear Stearns in 1978 as head of the Los Angeles regional corporate finance department where he built the firm’s largest corporate finance office outside of New York. Mr. Muh initiated Bear Stearns bankruptcy and reorganization practice, providing advisory services to both debtors in possession and creditors committees. He became a general partner of Bear Stearns in 1982. Mr. Muh supervised numerous public offerings and merger assignments. In addition, he provided expert witness testimony and valuations for numerous public and private companies.
In 1972, Mr. Muh founded and was president of Financial Services International, Inc. He was chairman of Newburger, Loeb & Co., Inc. a New York Stock Exchange member firm, from 1970-1972 and with McKinsey & Co., management consultants from 1966-1969.
Bob is a life trustee of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a
trustee of The Culinary Institute of America and The Napa Valley Opera House. He is a former chair of The FINRA
District Committee for District 1 (Northern California, Northern Nevada and
Hawaii) and he serves on the FINRA
Small Firm Advisory Board. He has also served as a director of numerous public
and private companies.
Mr. Muh has a bachelors degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
and an M.B.A. and Master of Philosophy degrees from Columbia University. While
at Columbia, Mr. Muh was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Finance.
Bob is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco.
